Multitudes of priceless treasures fill my calloused fingers
Just as the linings of clouds darken in my presence
Regal corridors filled with the luster of precious gems
Coincide with the ashes of mountains that have since descended

Abstract deceit upon the realm of the concrete
Forever unhallowed, mesmerizing all to follow a path
Unsure for the allure of tangible grandeur
To be an admiral, perdition is collateral

Outside eyes cast long gazes on all that I have become

To the terrifying means of deeds in greed committed at light speed for a life that might succeed
Words of Cicero echo in the ears of my peers that didn't know we trade power for woe
Fear looming overhead is comprehended that happiness cannot be felt until we're all dead
Rejected, the throne of might for the throes of strife that heatseek to dominate your whole life
The crown is a blessing and a burden, wheels burning as they're turning on the old roads to Babylon
